Somewhere between a field journal, a secrets tome, and a magical compendium, The Official Player's Strategy Guide to the Enchanted Circle is exactly what it sounds like: a player's guide — but for the high desert of New Mexico. Inside you'll find hand-drawn maps, native plant studies, a bestiary, recipes to trade, and quests that coax you into the obscure. Creators Gage Fernandez and Madison Ortega grew up wandering Taos’ montes together, messing with tourists, traversing mesas, and filling sketchbooks. They envisioned a way of sharing their stories; blending the mystical and the all too real experiences of life in a rural community rooted in history, nature and shaped by a tapestry of perspectives. Many seasons were spent collecting and curating the contents of this book. The result is a guidebook for the newly arrived adventurer and the seasoned local. It's an invitation to reimagine the familiar and perhaps tap into something deeper, if you can.

Madison Ortega

Madison Ortega,  a multidisciplinary artist,  weaves together food, art, and community to create immersive experiences. Growing up in an artist community such as Taos, Ortega developed a deep appreciation for the intersection of culture, cuisine, and creativity. After years in the food industry, they  felt burnt out and lost touch with their  creative side. It wasn't until they  started their own business and started prioritizing their creative eye, that they found their way back to art as a way of life.

As Ortega’s creative journey evolved, they began to merge their skills, collaborating with magazines, curating culinary exhibits, and bringing their thoughts to life through food styling, painting, and writing. Through their work, Ortega celebrates the beauty of food, community, and creative expression. Ortega is constantly seeking new ways to push boundaries and craft experiences that are visually stunning, thought-provoking, and engaging.
