$20.00

Two color 11×17 poster on Mohawk straw paper.

“Some areas also include medicinal herbs like indigo, milkweed, or even turmeric used as pigments, which is the case for tattoos in India. Binders for inks also vary. Most tattoo healers tend toward acid taken from the gallbladder of a cow, or other bovine. But in MENA & India, mother’s milk, or elder women’s urine have also been used. Breast milk & urine make the magic more concrete, or especially more powerful. Most of these ritualized practices seem to be done outside, or in a designated house, typically that of the tattoo healer.”
